FIVE SEVEN

Naga-uta is a LYRIC poetic form in alternating lines of five and seven syllables and ending with an extra seven syllable line.(see also the earlier ninth century Japanese Choka version)

The following poems (below)is my copyright but may be used for educational purposes provided acknowledgement is made to me at strandbg@hotmail.com
ERSTWHILE ( lyric in naga-uta form)

Sitting here,I dream
Those Summer days of my youth,
Life was slower then -
Holidays,so full of sun
Time, just drifted by,
Daylight lasting,oh so long -
Days stretched into weeks
Carefree as we ventured forth
Growing up,was simpler then.
LOST IN WONDER ( lyric in naga-uta form)
Desolate,once more
Thinking of what could have been;
Where did I go wrong?
Was there more I should have done?
Three words,left unsaid!
The arrogance of male pride
Shackled emotions inside.
